Beautiful Holiday House in Vergemoli with Common Pool and Mountain View

Farmhouse complex that was totally restored in 1998 and transformed into 4 beautiful apartments on a hilltop not far from Lucca. The stone farmhouse sits at 600 meters altitude and offers views over the surrounding countryside with chestnut forests, and steep wooded mountains. It is a little paradise from which one can hike all the mountain trails and visit the historical cities of central Tuscany. Gallicano with all facilities is at 10 kms, Lucca is at 50 kms, while Firenze and the seaside at Forte dei Marmi are an hour’s drive away. Worth a visit is also the famous cave called "Grotta del Vento", unique in its speleological majesty.

The property is well served by a local asphalt road and it is bordered by fence with gate that operates with electronic key and internal com system connected to each apartment. As the farmhouse is built into the side of a hill, it is articulated on various levels and has a series of furnished terraces, a stone barbecue, and lawns with an above ground swimmingpool that measures 5 X 10m sq. Each apartment has its own private furnished terrace space and totally independent entrance. These terraces are equipped with beautiful rustic tables and benches, providing perfect places to enjoy one’s meals while gazing at the panorama. Capanne 4 is in a separate barn.

The apartments are centrally heated and total gas consumption is to be paid extra during heating season together with firewood. The apartments are very comfortable and furnished with abundant use of wood, providing a cosy atmosphere of refined taste. The restoration was executed with great care in respect of typical Tuscan architectural style with woodbeamed ceilings, whitewashed walls and cotto floors. In some cases, original internal wooden ceilings were preserved, and where possible, the original stoneworks of the walls were restored and left in view. There are two baby cots available that should be reserved at time of booking, and there is a washingmachine for guest use. The apartments have satellite TV. Capanne1


The entrance to this apartment is on the front of the cottage, where the terrace is situated, furnished with a large wooden table for outdoor breakfasts, and chairs and stools to sit in the sun. Two doors allow you to enter the spacious interior. On the left is the cooking area, including a fridge, oven and gas-stove. In the centre is the dining area with a small fireplace between the two entrance doors, and on the right is the living area with a comfortable bed couch. A wooden staircase leads up to a double bedroom with a small bathroom and shower. To the left of the kitchen, a step lower than the rest, is the second double bedroom with a large bathroom and shower.
This apartment is very spacious comfortable and welcoming, also due to the fact of perfect use of wooden materials for the interior.

    “Eine wunderbare Unterkunft, erholsam , mit sehr netten Vermietern. Martina und Daniele Saissi sind sehr hilfsbereit und herzlich Positiv: Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Auch der große Garten ist sehr gepflegt. Die Stille , sehr erholsam. Überhaupt ist die Landschaft wunderbar. Sehr viel Wald und Berge. Negativ: Die Anfahrt , unten vom Tal ,ist relativ lang und voller Kurven. Schnell zum Bäcker , ist nicht.”

    “Wehr Ruhe und Natur sucht ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die Vermieter sind immer zu erreichen und kümmern sich sehr um das Anwesen und um die Gäste. Positiv: Pool ist sauber Die Vermieter sehr nett sind auf unsere Wünsche trotz Sprachschwierigkeiten eingegangen die Umgebung ist sehr schön viele Berge. Negativ: Die Anfahrt ist sehr abenteuerlich man muss schon sehr aufpassen da überlegt man sich schon herum zu fahren. Der Kühlschrank ist etwas veraltet das müsste bei den Temperaturen verbessert werden war auch nicht so sauber es kam eine Maus durch ein Loch in den Kühlschrank die Vermieterin hat dann eine Mausefalle aufgestellt.”

    “IM PRINZIP SEHR SCHÖN DORT. ABER ACHTUNG FÜR FAMILIEN MIT KINDERN. DER POOL STELLT FÜR KINDER AUFGRUND DER HOLZUMRANDUNG, WELCHE SCHON EIN PAAR JAHRE AUF DEM BUCKEL HAT, IN MEINEN AUGEN SCHON EIN ZIEMLICHE VERLETZUNGSGEFAHR DAR. Negativ: Leider wird der rasen bzw. Die wegeränder abends zwischen 16.00h und 20.00h gemäht bzw. Geschnitten, was ziemlich laut und sehr störend ist.”
